Community roadmaps

The Canada-wide child care community has developed a series of early learning and child care roadmaps, several before the announcement of the Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care $10 a day plan in 2021, while others followed or have been updated. A Canada-wide roadmap was developed by Child Care Now. Note that child care community organizations have developed other policy documents in addition to these roadmaps.

Tools for navigating to an ELCC vision

Each roadmap identifies key ELCC issues, describes a child care vision and goals, and outlines the actions required to achieve them. Roadmaps, which were developed using participatory consultative processes, are available as tools and guides for advocates, allies, researchers, and policy makers.
